Roby Alampay

Roby Alampay is an award-winning journalist, media development strategist and press freedom advocate with more than 30 years of experience in independent media. He serves as Adviser to IMS (International Media Support) for its Asia and Philippine programmes, where he leads initiatives on journalist safety, viability of public interest media and the fight against disinformation. Roby has been central in convening multi-sectoral coalitions behind the Philippine Plan of Action for the Safety of Journalists and in advancing the creation of a Public Journalism Fund designed for sustainability and local leadership. He is also Chairman of PumaPodcast, the Philippines’ pioneering podcast company, and Head of Public Engagement at PLDT-Smart. His work bridges policy, innovation and advocacy in support of democratic values.
