Babette Ngene is the Director of the Public Interest Technology team at the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF), where she oversees EFF’s technological initiatives, ranging from cybersecurity to the development and deployment of open-source technologies dedicated to safeguarding and defending rights in the digital space. She champions technology that works for everyone, embedding usability and accessibility at every stage of design, development, and deployment. For over a decade, Babette has worked to advance digital rights while expanding access to secure, intuitive, and rights-respecting tools for marginalized communities. She has spearheaded digital rights programs across four regions and more than 20 countries, with a focus on protecting at-risk communities.
