Mette Thygesen is International Director at the Danish Institute for Human Rights, an independent, research-based institution promoting and protecting human rights in Denmark and globally. She is deeply engaged in human rights, democracy and the rule of law, technology, sustainable development, responsible business – and a driving force behind the Institute’s work on a human rights-based approach to global digital policy. This includes a collaboration with the International Commission of Jurists to develop legal principles for accountability in the digital space. Mette also serves on the board of IMS (International Media Support), promoting freedom of expression and independent journalism.
